About Emeraude Cruise

In 1910 a paddle steamer called the Emeraude cruise was offering unforgettable cruises in Halong Bay for visitors to what was then French Indochina. The Emeraude was part of a flotilla owned by the Roque family who had left Bordeaux in 1858 in search of adventure and fortune. Over a period of more than 50 years they found both. After several ups and downs including successful trading and timber businesses, near bankruptcy and being taken hostage by pirates, the Roque brothers built Emeraude, Perle, Saphir, Rubis and Onyx to ferry passengers and freight along the waterways of Indochina and cruise on magnificent Halong Bay.

The Ship

Emeraude Cruise is consit of 38 Luxurious Cabins and one Suite, is is one of the biggest and most modern Ships ever seen in Halong Bay.

The Emeraude operates daily a two day, one night cruise. with elicious freshly caught seafood and Vietnamese specialties. In the morning, an American style breakfast is served onboard the colonial vessel. More than just cruising around, the Emeraude also offers tea-break, in the after noon traditional body massages and sunrise Tai Chi classes. Massage Rooms and the Beauty Salon.

Emeraude Cafe

Located in Bai Chay at the Royal Park Resort, the café connects to the Emeraude’s private pier, providing, convenient transitional space for guests to embark on the luxury overnight cruise.

The cafe serves a selection of Western food, including freshly made sandwiches, panini and pizza. Along with an extensive variety of teas, coffees and fresh juices, the café has an excellent wine list, sourced from around the world.

A cozy interior and outdoor terrace provides room for up to 70 diners. The café also offers complimentary wireless access for guests and sells a variety of Emeraude souvenirs.
